The French Education Ministry chooses a group of 36 French high school students to travel to the United States each year on an educational and understanding tour.
The students are selected from hundreds to participate in the Young Ambassadors of Associative Engagement program.
Students in the 2-week program participate in meetings and debates with associations on themes, such as equal opportunity and community service. They meet with American leaders and students to share their experience.
American Reportage members Rod Lamkey and Nima Taradji were separately contracted to document the students’ trip to Washington, DC, and Chicago, IL, respectively for publication in the French magazine, Phosphore.
